Chevron Amethyst

Chevron Amethyst belongs to the quartz group of minerals with purple hue bearing prominent white stripes. Banded Amethyst contains manganese in its structure imparting violet tinge to the stone. The brightness of the purple color depends on the amount of iron in amethyst. Chemically SiO2, this gemstone has a vitreous luster with weak bluish fluorescence. As the liquid form of the hot magma turns cool, it transforms the volcanic eruptive bubbling liquid into igneous rock. Meanwhile, gaseous or liquid silica particles convert to a solid state. The bubbles of the boiling acid transform into hollow spaces of the crystalline structure. Quartz crystal derives its sleek surface from the cooling of liquid silica acid, not from bubbling gas. If a solo bubble cools down at different rates, various shades of violet occur in Chevron Amethyst. Owing very low amount of iron in bubbling gaseous form of silica, Snow Quartz banding takes place in the structure of the Chevron variety of Amethyst.
